Hong Kong people, before 1990s, only think Chinese is Cantonese.5.39.217.772 y' j, H# _1 Z2 j. e0 _+ k+ V
It was wrong but we only think and talk that way.
前面松哥老婆差点被车撞那一幕,他说请以华文(华语)和我老婆道歉。而因该是 Mandarin 而 不是 Chinese,因为 Chinese 指的是华人,华族。反而 Mandarin 指的是华文(华语)。 ... # N Y2 L' d ?" @# L3 T0 ?, Ckaijye1794 發表於 2012-10-27 01:01 AM

What's wrong with the word "Chinese"? The word "Chinese" has multiple implications, just like any other words like "English" , "German" and "French"~~~ When you are in a place where majority of the public speaks Cantonese (which is a local dialect of Chinese), asking a person to "Speak Chinese" means you want that person to speak in that local dialect, i.e. Cantonese in this case! tvb now, tvbnow, bttvb; B0 t& v6 \# g" |
