[新聞] Honda to Recall 437,763 Vehicles to Repair Air Bags

In 2008 Honda recalled just under 4,000 Accord and Civic (both 2001MY) models due to an airbag problem. That recall was expanded by443,727 vehicles in July 2009. In what is really a pre-emptive move,the Japanese automaker has now expanded the recall by 378,758 vehicles,bringing the total number of recalls for that problem to 826,425 in theUS alone. Worldwide the recall will affect 952,118 vehicles.
Essentially the problem is one of airbags that can deploy tooforcefully, thus rupturing the inflator casing and sending metalfragments through the air bag. Honda admits to knowing of 12 suchincidents, one of which resulted in a fatality.
The latest recall also affects 2001 and 2002 Accord, Civic, Odyssey,CR-V and some Acura TL models. No new incidents have been reportedsince the July recall.
