Per Mertesacker (ankle) Report Date: 26 April
Per suffered an ankle injury in the win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in February. Speaking on April 26, Arsene Wenger said: “He is doing well. He is hopeful he will make the Euros and I hope he does. He is doing all his work here and the next two weeks will be vital for him. He has started ball work and he looks quite good.”
Abou Diaby (hamstring) Report Date: 26 April

Mikel Arteta (ankle) Report date: 20 April
Mikel has been ruled out of Arsenal’s remaining four matches. Speaking on April 19, Arsene Wenger said: “It is season over for him but he doesn’t need surgery, which is what we were scared of. So he will be out for six to eight weeks. It is an ankle problem but just a sprain.”
Jack Wilshere (ankle) Report date: 20 April
Jack has been ruled out of the European Championships. Speaking on April 16, Arsene Wenger said: “Jack will not play again this season and will not go to the European Championships. That is for sure. He is not ready to practice today or next week. His ankle is fine and he makes progress, but it is slow progress. We had a chat about that this week. His progress is not quick enough to go to the Euros.”
Emmanuel Frimpong (knee) Report Date: 10 February
Speaking on February 9, Arsene Wenger said: “He had surgery on Thursday night unfortunately. He had what we have seen so many times; one cruciate [goes] and then the other as well. It was a case for Pires, for Edu and now Frimpong. I believe that it is unfortunate. The fortunate situation is that we could have surgery straight away and that this threat over his head is now gone. It’s a tough time because he was doing very well at Wolves. But hopefully we can get him back in the Autumn.” |
