Introducing the Toyota GT-86. Originally showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2009, the modern re-creation of the legendary “Hachiroku” from the Japanese comic series Initial D means three things: power, handling and everyday usability. The engine, developed by Subaru, is a 2.0 liter horizontally-mounted Boxer engine which outputs 197 horsepower to a classic front-engine rear wheel drive chassis. Style and function keypoints are not absent as well with flared wheel arches, dual chrome exhaust tips and even a race-derived rear diffuser. The GT-86 will be available in the UK next June.
