Torrent download ， 描述： how to increase the speed

I have asked this question somewhere before but I could not find it, so I am here posting my question again.
I use BitTorrent to download video files. It is painfully slow. It is around 10K to 50K.
I have cable modem - Rogers in Greater Toronto Area. I subscribe to megavideo and the download speed is somewhere around 250K.
How can I increase the BitTorrent speed or are there other programs more suitable for Torrent files?

this is the first post you made about this subject...

my advice: you should try xunlei instead....more resources so, faster...

a lot of people complain about bittorrent, but when change to xunlei, they say the speed improved, some a lot, some just little... but better than nothing.
