if you are working, go meet the people @ work...
if you are studying, go meet people @ school...
and then from those people you can hang with them and meet their friends or girls.
I think that would be a better approach.

i'm sure you can find friends at the church but not necessary able to have benefit like how you meet girl elsewhere. it's definitely hard to meet friends in foreign country.
you CAN hook up with chicks from church, just that you'll have to marry her if you wanna bang her - a bit of a hassle and the cost/benefit ratio would be way out of whack, plus you can't do a bump and ...
