所謂的「從未使用過的分析方法」，就是運用多普勒效應理論（Doppler Effect）。根據有關理論，當波源和觀察者之間互動時，波的頻率會出現改變，導致其波長頻率被壓縮或拉伸。簡單而言，就是觀察者與波源接近，波會被壓縮，波長變短，頻率會變高；但當兩者拉遠，波便會被拉長，頻率會降低。常見例子是響號的車輛由遠駛近時，人會感到響號出現高低音之變化。
