好心急想睇你嘅大作 ... Mr. Chow Old


Actually this is no 大作 at all,
Its rather juvenile and amateurish.
I bought the raised vege patch in kit form,
assembled and modified it to a manageable configuration,
added good organic vege growing soil and fertilizer,
installed the watering soaking hose (about 4 cm under the soil) that wrapped around the bed,
covered the soaking hose with compost,
planted seedlings alongside the hose,
covered the bed with sugarcane mulch

I used irrigation pipe, normal gardening hose will work.  I think irrigation pipe is more UV tolerant.  





The current one seems to work out fine,
So I am building a second one.

我以前後花園全部製造成自動澆灌, 花費差不多AU$2仟多元(自己造), 早上同黃昏TIMER到時自動澆灌,看到很開心, 但約6-7年前澳洲製水`不準用自動澆灌, 到今未有用過

師兄, 以前是種少少花,主要澆草地, 現在不同主要種瓜菜, 一路澆水時看看佢長幾大, 好大樂趣

Hi Vanda,
Yes, it does take a fair bit of good vege growing soil, actually its one of the bigger investment I put in.  Its fully organic and weed free, I  think its going to be worthwhile in the long run.

The watering system is really efficient; because its buried beneath the soil level, it is directly watering the roots; with added the mulching, it reduces the evaporation to the minimum.  I set the timer for 5 minutes at 5 am. and 5 minutes at 6 pm.  And the veges are all doing fine.
