韋柏復出將加盟戰士

消息人士指出，韋柏（Chris Webber）即將復出，與金州戰士（Warriors）的合約可望周二完成。韋柏也在周一晚間以電子郵件告知美聯社，他決定要與戰士隊簽約。

已經退休的韋柏會改變心意，是受了前教練尼爾森（Don Nel-son）及前隊友穆林（Chris Mullin）的邀約；1994年韋柏贏得年度最佳新人獎項時，就是與這兩人同隊；不過在那之後6個月，韋柏與尼爾森起了爭執，結果被交易至華府。

對於韋柏的復出，尼爾森先前就已表示：「說實話，我希望這件事可以成真；我們球隊需要他。」去年球季，尼爾森重執教鞭，率領戰士繼1993-94年球季再度晉級季後賽。

消息指出，尼爾森與現任球隊籃球事務副總裁的穆林都認為，尼爾森跟韋柏已盡釋前嫌。

尼爾森說，2002年他挑選韋柏擔任明星賽先發時，就已經跟韋柏和好。戰士預備以老將的最低年薪120萬美元，照時間比例跟韋柏簽約。

ESPN.com reported that Webber, who spent the second half of last season with the Pistons, will be in Oakland today to rejoin the Golden State Warriors, where he won rookie-of-the-year honors in 1993-94, his only year there.

"I'll be there tomorrow," Webber said in an e-mail to the Web site. "It's a done deal."

The deal would reunite Webber with former coach Don Nelson, with whom he clashed as a rookie before demanding a trade.
