[新聞] Clubs braced for 'most expensive' deadline-day in history

Dimitar Berbatov's proposed move from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester United will be the key transfer on potentially the most expensive deadline day in history.
Berbatov, 27, has handed in a transfer request in pursuit of a move to Old Trafford, while Bayern Munich are reported to be monitoring the Bulgaria striker's situation.

Spurs completed the signing of Roman Pavlyuchenko at the weekend and are in the market for another striker, with Real Zaragoza pair Diego Milito and Sergio Garcia on their radar.

They would also welcome a defensive midfielder such as Sporting Lisbon's Miguel Veloso or Portsmouth's Lassana Diarra, and they want Manchester City defender Vedran Corluka.

"At the moment, there is a lot of interest from Spurs," said City boss Mark Hughes.

Chelsea are hopeful of brokering a deal for Robinho from Real Madrid, although relations between the two clubs are strained following the public pursuit of the Brazil forward.
