The4G91 uses a 78.4 mm bore and 77.5 mm stroke for a total displacement of1.5 litres. With a 9.5:1 compression ratio and DOHC,four-valve-per-cylinder head and multi-point EFI, this engine produces84 kW at 6000 rpm and 135 N·m at 5000 rpm.

4G92
The4G92 displaces 1.6 L (1597 cc) and is available with either SOHC orDOHC or MIVEC DOHC versions. Power output can be as high as 172 hp(128kw), as found in the Mirage Cyborg-ZR. A Modular Displacement (MD)version of the 4G92 MIVEC was also produced – MD is Mitsubishi'scylinder deactivation system which helps improve fuel consumption.

The1.8 L (1834 cc) 4G93 is also available in both SOHC and DOHC versions.Turbocharged variants are also produced. The 4G93 was the first moderngasoline direct injection engine on its introduction in August 1996,and Mitsubishi produced over a million GDI engines. The SOHC 4G93provides 86 kW at 6000 rpm and redlines at 6500 rpm. The DOHC4G93/4G93P has 103kw at 6000rpm and redline at 7600rpm

The4G94 is a 2.0 L version built in Japan, used in the Mitsubishi Lancer.Bore is 81.5 mm and stroke is 95.8 mm, with a compression ratio of9:5:1. Output is 120 hp (89 kW) at 5500 rpm with 130 ft·lbf (176 N·m)of torque at 4250 rpm. It has a cast iron engine block with MFI fuelinjection and an aluminum SOHC cylinder head with forged steelconnecting rods and four valves per cylinder.
