Blackpool v Man United postponed 
Blackpool's Premier League clash with Manchester United on Saturday has been postponed after the Bloomfield Road pitch fell foul of adverse weather conditions sweeping the UK.
Overnight frost and temperatures of below minus eight have left parts of the Blackpool pitch frozen solid and despite groundstaff working around the clock referee Peter Walton called off the match on Friday after consulting with club officials.
Mr Walton expressed concern that the severely affected areas of the playing surface would not thaw sufficiently for the game to be completed.
Blackpool have the pitch covered, with hot air blowers doing their best to thaw the turf, but continued freezing conditions are expected to make the problem worse.
