There are numerous undersea structures going under the sea and oceans, take the Euro tunnel, the various communication cables crossing the oceans, etc...

And yes, gas power generation does generation greenhouse gas, but far less than coal fired power generator; and still remember the Japanese tsunami, the meltdown of the nuclear power generator?  I rest my case.
