荷花凭藉它的绿叶红花，形成色彩艳丽、婀娜多姿的风格，是一种受人们欢迎的观赏花卉，被历代的文人誉为“翠盖佳人”。与人间佳人不同的是，荷花的美是天然的美、自然的美，没有一丝一毫的人工装饰，李白“清水出芙蓉，天然去雕饰”的诗句，就形象地概括了荷花的这一特性。不仅如此，荷花还以它“出污泥而不染” 的品格，被众多的墨客称为“花中君子”，常常以它为喻，赞誉那些不肯与世俗同流合污具有高风亮节的人。

据说，以前，天上有一位仙女，羡慕人间生活。她在天上听说西湖的美丽，就一心想逃出天宫亲眼看一看。有一天，她趁王母不在家，就下凡来到西湖上空。她俯瞰了这里的山山水水，果然名不虚传。仙女被这里的美景吸引住了，再也不想回天宫。这一来，被王母娘娘知道了，就派了天兵天将前来捉拿她。可是仙女实在不愿离开西湖，痛哭流涕，恨自己不该在天宫，恨王母不该那么严。在天兵天将的簇拥和威吓下，仙女的眼泪滴到西湖里，又把头上的玉簪投在西湖中，表示恋恋不舍之意，悻悻离开西湖回到了天宫。一会儿，西湖里长满了盛开的荷花。从此花开花落，年年如此。1 r8 o) _5 W* }0 }# s

Lotus and water lilies blooms are always so reserved, the exquisite silky petals open slowly during the day and close as the sun goes down, they are always complimented with the big round dark green leaves, sometime with little pearls of waterdrops on them, they are one of my favourite plant.公仔箱論壇( R, s5 i$ p" r$ r7 l: J
