Hi ,
I just bought a second hands netbook sony vaio vpcw12s1e which is allready preinstalled windows 7 starter in French,
but how can I change it in chinese or english ?
Wondows 7 starter is quiet slow , can I change it to xp home ? is it compatiible with this vaio model ?

You can try to get a windows setup disc to format your netbook.
Since there are only Windows 7 drivers provided by Sony, you can't down to xp unless you have xp drivers for your vaio.
you can use windows update menu in your win7 on your notebook . And then on windows update web you can find 36 language packs for your downloading . you just need download the chinese and english language packs . After downloading you do install this 2 updates . And then you click "start", "control panel", "regional language options" , and do changes for your needed languages . for your reference.
