Poor Midsy. Neither he nor anyone at Spurs probably anticipated DimitarBerbatov becoming as undroppable as he did, and Mido is a genuinelytalented footballer who did have a couple of half decent matches wherehe set up or scored important goals. He’s simply not the kind ofstriker who will do well or stay sharp if he isn’t playing regularly,something Tottenham really should have known from his loan period.

Mido says he is determinedto leave Tottenham in the close season after admitting he made amistake returning to White Hart Lane.

TheEgyptian frontman struggled to gain a regular first team place at Spursthis season, with Martin Jol selecting Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keaneand Jermain Defoe ahead of him.It was a far cry from the majorimpact he had during the 2005/06 campaign, when Mido helped the clubreach the UEFA Cup during a loan spell from Roma.
