金沙江是中國長江上游的名稱，一般是指青海玉樹縣巴塘河口到四川宜賓市岷江口之間的長江上游，而宜賓以下的才被正式稱作長江。金沙江全長2308千米，流域面積34萬平方千米，落差達3,300米。金沙江上著名的虎跳峽，是世界上最深的峽谷之一。金沙江古稱麗水，以盛產金沙而得名。

I am not sure if the rive has golden sand, but I am confirmed that the place have a lot of water, in which the grass become green and rich.  It makes the village so fresh and beautiful.
