Curling is played on ice, and the two opposing teams take turns pushing19.1-kilogram (42-pound) stones toward a series of concentric rings orcircles. Curlers wear specialty shoes, including one shoe with a strip ofteflon on its sole to create a smooth surface (known as a slider).Right-handed curlers wear the slider on their left foot, whileleft-handers wear it on their right foot.
