Report: Manchester United To Fight Milan For Sevilla Hotshot Luis FabianoThe Nervionense outfit could be about to cash in big this summer if they can instigate a bidding war for their Brazilian hitman. After returning from the FIFA Confederations Cup with the Golden Boot and the Silver Ball, Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano has become hot property in the transfer market. AC Milan have long expressed their admiration for the 28-year-old and they have recently been linked with another approach for the marksman. But they could face stiff competition after AS reported that Manchester United have entered the race to sign him.
The Red Devils are desperate to acquire a world class forward following the departure of Carlos Tevez and the failed attempt to sign Karim Benzema. And with players like David Villa ruling out a move to England and Sergio Aguero priced out of their range, Luis Fabiano may be the best option for Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Brazilian currently has two years left in his contract with Sevilla and his €30 million buy-out clause appears to have put off Milan, who are unwilling to offer any more than €20m. But the figure should be no obstacle for United, who have recently received the full €94m from Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo.
As for Sevilla, who have identified midfield reinforcements as their main priority, the money could come in handy as they are struggling to off-load a handful of fringe players to free up funds to complete the singing of Didier Zokora from Tottenham Hotspur.
United and Milan, meanwhile, are also reportedly tracking Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
