It’s possible Pau Gasolwill return to action for the Lakers on Sunday night when they playhost to Washington at Staples Center. The Lakers would love to haveGasol back for a game to get acclimated again before the Lakers resumeplay against Western Conference competition to end the regular season.Gasol is nursing a sprained ankle.
After facing Washington, the Lakers play host to Portland andDallas—although the last time the Lakers had a visiting EasternConference team in town, it was all kinds of trouble. The Lakers lost,108-95, to the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night at Staples.
The Lakers didn’t have much trouble with Washington on Feb. 3,winning by a 103-91 count just before Gasol played his first game. But Caron Butler, the former Laker, wasn’t 100 percent that game because of his hipinjury. Butler is back now, whereas the Lakers are banged up—with Derek Fisher (foot) and Gasol both questionable.
