WhitehavenBeach is known for its white sands. The sand consists of 98% pure $ h$ l+ j, F4 H4 e) ]- W4 ^ P* \silicatvb now,tvbnow,bttvb* J% ]- c4 N" W/ E. y
which gives it a bright white color.Local rocks do not contain silica so it has been suggested that the sands werebrought to the beach via prevailing sea currents over millions of years.tvb now,tvbnow,bttvb( U1 \, l9 f3 Q" J; T. m5 x
Unlikeregular sand, the sand on Whitehaven Beach does not retain heat making itcomfortable to walk barefoot on a hot day.
