Zoe added: 公仔箱論壇2 R- p3 ]. R. D
Actually, the second part of the song in Hungarian is not so reassuring at all.
5 T$ o4 P- o+ J5.39.217.77:8898It is if at all possible, much gloomier than the first two stanzas, almost apocalyptic. 5.39.217.77:88989 h3 R0 b+ i+ a
It looks like the pessimism of the song was too much for the translators and they made their translation a happier one.
! r$ }- k- M5 u9 X7 C( Z5 d公仔箱論壇In that case one might argue that the translator has done a bad job
7 O3 E# h1 n7 z/ z1 B; h- K* u( Q9 aand 'ruined' the song, or in other words: a translator has to maintain the original spirit

Perhaps the Sam Lewis mentioned in the credits is responsible for this. " V3 ], B+ @0 O1 u! H& o

1 W# ^- z# x* `8 v, t7 A公仔箱論壇Zoe Orosz also made a translation into English of the original Hungarian song, adding:
! _6 P, D# D' m! ^" dIt looks like Javor wrote the first part and Seress the second. It is very-very gloomy. 公仔箱論壇# g% J5 s: ]5 F, N. X+ O& e. M
It seems to refer to the horrors of a war at the end.   u4 p# v$ a! R0 u9 e& N* W# X2 D
I'm glad that there's an English version that makes it less terrible. To be honest,

so maybe it was good after all that it was not made popular in its original form.

The war Zoe mentions could be the First World War, as the song originates from the 1930s. TVBNOW 含有熱門話題,最新最快電視,軟體,遊戲,電影,動漫及日常生活及興趣交流等資訊。, l, y2 O, w! `8 D. g* h

Someone said that:
. P4 \9 t; m: L7 q, l% RI like this song very much! It is a little jazzy, and Sarah's singing and the music create the right mood for the song.
. J2 ^) u5 C( x! OOne thing is very strange, though. The mood changes between the second and the third stanza,
% {7 C# }8 N* i9 t7 g! m+ H% i& aTVBNOW 含有熱門話題,最新最快電視,軟體,遊戲,電影,動漫及日常生活及興趣交流等資訊。because she wakes up and realises that the gloomy first two stanzas were nothing but a dream and the third stanza is then more chearful. 公仔箱論壇+ n* h5 r0 N8 p3 v5 Y; J2 T
This change of mood is strangely rather abrupt: : U; q3 s& H1 F2 j$ j2 s
the pause is less than a second -- Sarah has barely enough time to catch her breath. 4 _' M  }2 [2 D7 u2 N
I would have expected the change in mood between stanzas two and three to be build up a little more gradually,
# f- L$ ]8 R7 C8 W8 r# D5.39.217.77:8898in five to ten seconds or so. After all, waking up and realising that it was a dream takes time.
4 b4 I1 r0 E9 f: Z# e+ i; btvb now, tvbnow, bttvbHazan suggested that the last stanza could still be part of the dream: the singer has lost her lover,
3 c  V& D+ |( I/ |: l! H) R( H公仔箱論壇continues her mourning in her dream, and as a reaction to the pain wishes it was all but a dream:

I do not think this is what is meant here. The change of mood, the use of the words
- ^  a! t# W3 ^1 E% v"I was only dreaming / I wake" and also the lines "I hope /
. q" W8 Y4 g1 othat my dream never haunted you" make me think that the singer has woken up ' e' E" a" a3 K
