近日有攝影師拍攝到，一頭母獅子為了要保護小獅子過河，和一頭兇猛的鱷魚單打獨鬥的驚險畫面，最後母獅成功達成任務，但下巴卻也因此受傷。

所謂「為母則強」。在非洲博茨瓦纳(Botswana)地區，有一隻母獅正要帶著小獅子前往對面的河岸，卻正好遇見有隻鱷魚在水中，為了確保小孩安全無虞，母獅竟然毫不猶豫的跳進水裡，與鱷魚展開一場廝殺。

這一幕被來自比利時的野生動物攝影師Pia Dierickx目擊。「我看小心翼翼地觀察這頭母獅，牠突然就跳進了水裡，並濺起來了巨大的水花。」看見眼前的景象，Dierickx趕緊把握機會藉此連續拍下了六張母獅與鱷魚纏鬥的照片。

Dierickx表示，「還好母獅用牠的前腳死命地壓住了鱷魚的嘴，所以在打鬥中沒有造成死亡。」

雖然母獅的下巴在博鬥中受了傷，流出鮮血，但幸運地，最後是快樂結局收場，母獅安全地將小獅子帶到了河岸的另一邊，鱷魚也在此時離開。
