The next chapter in the viral video series from action sports figure, rally driver and DC Shoes co-founder, Ken Block, takes place at the L'Autodrome de Montlhéry facility in France.
Titled Gymkhana 3 THREE Part 2; Ultimate Playground, this is the first time the Gymkhana series features Block's newest ride, the 2011 Ford Fiesta.
In the 7 minute long video Block takes the Fiesta to new acceleration and braking extremes with a showcase of drifting stunts all around the Autodrome, particularly, up the steep 51-degree banking of the high-speed oval.
Gymkhana 3 is a fun watch, but to put things into perspective, some background on Block's Fiesta is necessary. The 2,425-pound (1100 kg) Gymkhana THREE Fiesta is built by Olsbergs Motorsport Evolution (MSE) capable of up to 850 bhp (634 kW / 862 PS). However, in order to maximize the torque band Block needs to control the car, it is restricted to 650 bhp (485 kW / 659 PS). Equipped with an Olsbergs MSE Maktrak (magnesium) six-speed paddle-shift sequential transmission, it is capable of 660 lb.-ft. (895 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm and needs only 1.9 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph (96.5 km/h).
