Onekotan is in Russia’s Kuril Islands between Japan and the tip of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The islands were formed by volcanic activity
caused by the subduction of the Pacific Plate beneath the Eurasian Plate. Subduction can also generate some of the largest earthquakes 公仔箱論壇: v$ Z' \1 Z* X- P9 V9 B3 ^4 y2 ^# E
