.dat to DVD

I have some movies in dat format, I know i can burn them as vcd. However, I want to burn them into DVDs and can be seen on a DVD player. 5.39.217.77:8898; w2 U8 a2 [1 q5 n# z
I tried to just burn a data DVD and it's viewable on some DVD players, others can't read the disc. And also, I can't change the audio channel, as in I can't change it to only left or right, that is it's speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin...
