McLaren has ramped up efforts to establish a dealer network worldwidewith the hiring of regional directors for North America and Europe. The company is expected to release the McLaren MP4-12C in those partsof the world.
The McLaren MP4-12C was revealed last month with a3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing up to 600 horsepower and 440ft-lb of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed twin-clutchGraziano transmission with paddle-shifters. It is the first of severalFormula 1-style vehicles expected from the automaker.
From anoffice in the New York/New Jersey area, Anthony Joseph, RegionalDirector of McLaren Automotive North America, will oversee the launchof up to ten dealerships across the US and Canada. McLaren AutomotiveEurope will be run by Christian Marti out of the company's TechnologyCentre in Woking, England. Marti plans to establish as many as 15dealerships across the continent. The two men have a combined workexperience that includes time served at Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Jaguar,Land Rover, and Subaru. They join Middle East and Africa director IanGorsuch.
The three execs will be expected to get the retail sideup and running before the global market launch of the MP4-12C in spring2011 with an estimated price range between £125,000 and £175,000. |
