Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says the agent of Cristiano Ronaldo knows it would be a mistake to move to Real Madrid.
Fergie said: "Jorge Mendes, Cristiano's agent, has been the man who is responsible for him being here and he knows it is the right club for Cristiano.
"The boy is happy here - we protect him, we look after him and we give him the platform for his talents. We have worked with him to help him develop and, as he has said, he has many friends here.
"He's winning major trophies and playing in a league recognised around the world as the strongest.
Why would he want to leave? "We know what Real Madrid are doing because they do it all the time and they continue to get away with it. We've tried reporting them in the past but FIFA don't bother." |
