The Coronel/Bennani battle was a race-long affair, as both drivers once again took advantage of the BMW’s strong start to lead from the front row.

This is also the Dutchman’s fourth WTCC career victory.

James Nash and Tom Chilton completed a 5-6 finish for Chevrolet, with Engstler’s Charles Ng beating Münnich Motorsport’s Rob Huff to seventh.

James Thompson, who was looking set to once again score for Lada, was forced out of ninth by Marc Basseng, and eventually finished 13th.
