margaret leann rimes，1982年8月28日誕生在美國密西西比州，在德州garland成長的leann從小就立志當一位出色的歌手，2歲開始唱歌，5歲時就在地方的才藝歌唱比賽展露頭角。1996年黎安萊姆絲以13歲的稚齡推出第一張專輯「憂鬱」和同名單曲「blue」，原先只是一個小女孩初試啼聲的作品，豈料推出後，全美紛紛陷入黎安萊姆絲豐沛的情感和轉音技巧演繹的歌曲，黎安的嗓音除了令人連想到50、60年代的鄉村流行第一天后patsy cline外，也馬上被拿來和同樣以幼小年紀一出道就紅遍半邊天的tanya tucker及brenda lee比較，紛紛封她為『patsy cline接班人』，雖然不像時下少女偶像過度包裝外表和擅於炒作新聞，一襲牛仔造型的leann卻馬上用她精湛歌喉引爆黎小妹現象
