Cristiano Ronaldo is in great form now that the Real Madrid-Barcelona Clasico in La Liga draws nearer (Saturday 16 April, 22:00 CET). The Portuguese forward has scored in the last three games he's played in, netting the strike that gave Real Madrid the victory against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, which sealed Real Madrid's pass to the UCL semifinals. Ronaldo has tallied 40 goals in all three competitions this season, and is two short of reaching his personal record of the 2007/08 season.
Ronaldo's streak began on 5 April with a volley that sealed the victory against the English side in the first leg at the Bernabeu. He also scored the last strike in the Whites' 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at San Mames.
By scoring against Barcelona on Saturday, Cristiano would equal the best goal-scoring streaks he had earlier this season, between 3-23 October and 22 December-13 January. Ronaldo has previously has scored in five consecutive games with the Whites on two occasions, between 29 August-23 September 2009 and 21 February-14 March 2010). |
