i think sony....
sony looks nicer and that is easy to change the setting.
canon seems like...not as nice looking as sony, but have more different setting.

I like shooting for a long time.
              Ask yourself what kind of quality by your camera.....
              CANON is very performance even for professional.
              SONY=MINOTA+carl ziess lens.If you enjoy to have good
              quality in ziess lens.SONY is your choice!!!

depends on what you want to shot.
i most prefer canon if only can choose one from these two brand.
in this price $2000-3000, may be i bought canon G9.
ha ha, i hope its still in budget.

Of course is canon!
Coz if compare with others brand,canon's picture quality is better than others.
While sony's screen looks nicer .But don't forget , sony is made screen de. It may have different with the pic that u print it out.
Canon is made lens de. Good quality picture must have good quality lens.
It u want to buy canon , I suggest u to buy Ixus 860is. It's with wide angle and 8 mege pixel.

CANON好，CANON是老牌厂商。SONY的小DC只是比较时尚而已，而单反只是沿用了美能达的技术。

Sony's camera... is not as good as canon
... they r not pro with it...
and sony's camera dosent last long..
So i beleive Canon is better~~~

I compared both brand's picture quality and found Canon is sharper and more vivid in the daylight (e.g. under the sun or well lighted) but Sony is superior with it's flash technology (e.g. in the party or BBQ night on the beach). So depending on your need. If you go clubbing, indoor party, or someone's home I recommended Sony, but if you take scenic pictures like mountain, buildings, theme parks, portrait under the sun then you may wise to get Canon because the picture is very sharp.
