貝聿銘's design of 羅浮宮博物館（Musee de Louvre） has been critically emphazised not because it's not good.  Even those don't like it do admit it is a great structure in architecture.  But they insist that the structure is total unmatch with the classical structure of the museum.  I must say I personally like it but not as part of the museum which keeps lot of classic masterpieces in different aspects.  It just don't match!  In fact, most items are displayed in the museum for 1 to 3 months in a year.  Many others were kept behind.  This circulation of item displaying is to bring "freshness" to people who visit at different instance.

You know why 龐畢度中心 has "以水管線路、煙囪風管、鋼筋桁架等怪異外觀"?  I forget the name of the architect.  But I've an article many years ago saying that the basic concept is " to bring the inside out" That mean to create the largest, unobsructed view within.  All blocking facilities like stairs and ventilation factilities have to be removed.  So they are moved to the outsideresulting in the "weird looking structure."
