The Leicester man inherited pole after Bruno Spengler was handed a five-place grid penalty, but lost out on the start and did not challenge Rockenfeller for the second spot on the podium in the latter stages of the race.

“It’s great to be standing on the podium for the first time in my new Audi racing suit,” said Green.
