The name 悉尼 has been used as the official name for Sydney for at least six to seven years now, when pronounced in Mandare in, it's a much closer translation of Sydney compare to 雪梨 . Just like the name Beijing instead of Peking for 北京 in English. However, in a Chinese restaurants, if you try to order a Beijing Duck, the waiter wouldn't know what you are trying to order though. . I can't help but to add some caption to these beautiful photos: C; B M' X. XThe first one is either from the Sydney Botanic Garden or at the Hyde Park, they are both very nice spots to relax and have a leisurely sunbake during the lunch break for many Sydneysiders.公仔箱論壇& k# R% L0 _1 E9 @ I$ d
Then there is the famous Sydney Opera House taken from the western side. ( y* {# G0 u* l2 _公仔箱論壇Followed by two photos of the snow fields at Perisher Valley, not much snow yet, give it another 4 to 5 weeks, then it would be right into the skiing season. & w( \' V# z% w- C& P1 N5.39.217.77Then there are the Bondi Beach, if you venture to the eastern side, well, there you will find a lot of women sunbaking topless; no fuss, as men do it all the time.公仔箱論壇; n( @# ?" i) |! Then we are heading north toward central coast up, about an hour and a half drive from Sydney, we get to the a place call The Entrance, a really nice spot, the ranger feed the Pelicans twice a day, quite an interesting sight. Great fish and chips shops, cafes, and restaurants. Nice fishing spot too. & |# V$ K( M% E1 z# O4 tHere we are back to Sydney at the St Andrew's Cathedral, an Anglican church next to the Sydney townhall." f) R* ]! Q' a' R8 }6 M# P" n8 b
The last one is specially for the shopaholics. The renovated Queen Victoria Building, there used to be an up market Chinese restaurant inside, but it's now turned into another shop. A very nice shopping arcade.9 L! w% [/ I; ]& [
