The Lakers looked impressive in their first playoff game of the season, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder, 87-79, on Sunday.

They had balanced scoring with four players in double figures, Pau Gasol (19 points, 13 rebounds) and Andrew Bynum (13 and 12) both had
double-doubles, the team shot 41 percent from the floor, outrebounded the Thunder by five boards and kept Kevin Durant in check.
Pau Gasol wasn’t pleased with how many times the Lakers allowed Thunder guard Russell Westbrook to get into the lane. The former UCLA star scored 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting.
Kobe Bryant, who didn’t play four of the final five games, felt he personally had too many lapses during transitions “in terms of our
defensive rotations, getting back and protecting the basket.”

Phil Jackson also thought the Lakers needed to get more open looks and step up their defense on Westbrook because in the “third quarter

Even Ron Artest, who had a monster game defensively by holding Durant to 7-of-24 shooting from the field, was reluctant to give his teammates
high marks for their mental game.
