As you can imagine, everyone who's anyone is here in Chicago taking along look at the majority of the players who are projected to be chosenin the 2009 NBA Draft. At one point on Wednesday night we caught upwith Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey, and asked him who he liked so farin the process.
"We like that Griffin kid," Morey said, nearly pulling off a straight face.
Wewere joking with Morey, saying that everyone knows the Rockets willmake an unconventional pick, but that the pick will somehow work outfor the team.
"Well, I'd like to have a top pick," he joked,"but they never get me a high pick. We always have to pick from playerswho are broken in some way. Aaron (Brooks) was (supposedly) too small,Carl (Landry) (supposedly) had bad knees . . ."
All kiddingaside, Morey is confident his team will be able to acquire a firstround pick, so expect the Rockets to be busy . . .as usual . . .ondraft night.
