Q: What part of Michael Jordan’s game do you think made him the greatest ever? (Paul, New York)
A: I think it would be his competitive fire. I don’t think I have seen anybody in the league as competitive as Michael. I think Kobe is close. Jordan had a fire in him that you don’t find in many guys out there, regardless of what sport they play, and that is what set him apart.
Q: Do you like visiting China? (Jing Mai, Guangzhou)
A: I love visiting China as well as the other countries in Asia I have been through. I’ve been on a number of trips with Adidas and it’s always a great time. The way they treat me over there is unbelievable. They make me feel like a rockstar.
Q: I know you are a big baseball fan so I was wondering if you ever got to play with any of the Astros or other big league players you might know? (J.P., Waco, TX)
A: I did get an opportunity to play some ball with Roger Clemens. He was throwing some serious heat! I was batting with an aluminum bat and I was actually hitting him so he made me switch to a wood bat. After the switch I was still hitting the ball so he started throwing high and inside at me. I had to get out of that cage when he started throwing at my head. He was throwing probably like 85 mph, so I wasn’t trying to mess around with that. It was a lot of fun though.
Q: Does this year’s Western Conference playoff race feel different than years past? (Richie, Houston)
A: This year is crazy. There’s going to be a team that wins 50 games and doesn’t make the playoffs, so it’s a battle out there. I love it. Every night is a competition. One day you’re in the fifth spot, the next day you’re in the third spot. It’s different than the playoff races I have been in in the past, but I like it.
Q: Tracy I have been following your career through Toronto, Orlando, and now Houston. What are your ultimate goals in basketball? (Zack, Orlando)
A: My ultimate goal is to be a champion. I know all these guys that have rings and I want what they have. I don’t care about scoring titles and individual accolades any more. I’ve done that. My goal it to get that championship and I will do whatever I gotta do to make that happen. Hopefully this will be the year but there are a lot of great teams out there. I’ll give it my all though, and hopefully we will be there in the end.
