Flight 772 from Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo to Chad to Paris went down in Niger on Sept. 19, 1989, after a briefcase bomb planted by Libyan terrorists was detonated.

The cabin of the UTA DC 10 flight 772 lays on the Tenere desert after the passenger plane exploded on September 19, 1989, killing all 171 people aboard. 5.39.217.777 f# T; V! P {

September 19, 1989 the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 aircraft registered N54629 took off from N'Djamena International Airport at 13:13. 46 minutes later, at its cruising altitude of 10,700 metres (35,100 ft), a bomb explosion caused UTA Flight 772 to break up over the Sahara Desert near the towns of Bilma and Ténéré in Niger. All 155 passengers and 15 crew members died.

There are also 170 broken mirrors laid around the circumference, each one representing a victim.
Nearby, a plane wing sits upright in the sand, with a plaque holding the names, ages and nationalities of the victims.tvb now,tvbnow,bttvb# n$ v3 E6 I# h3 u- c1 D" B
It took two months to create the memorial, with stones transported more than 100 kilometres across the desert.
