索契將舉辦第22屆冬季奧運會和十一冬季殘奧會在2014年，以及俄羅斯的一級方程式大獎賽從2014年直到至少2020主題電路準備時間.這是一個2018年世界杯足球賽的主辦城市。

索契（俄语：Сочи，拉丁字母转写：Sochi），俄罗斯联邦克拉斯诺达尔边疆区与格鲁吉亚接界处、黑海沿岸，宽40至60公里，东西长145公里，是俄罗斯最狭长的城市，也是俄罗斯最受欢迎的渡假胜地，其道路和楼房均依山势而建，在这里乘车观光，最能体会峰回路转的视觉愉悦。

Sochi (Russian: Со́чи; IPA: [ˈsotɕɪ]) is a city in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, situated on the Black Sea coast near the border between Georgia/Abkhazia and Russia. Greater Sochi sprawls for 145 kilometers (90 mi) along the shores of the Black Sea near the Caucasus Mountains. According to the 2010 Census, the city had a permanent population of 343,334;up from 328,809 recorded in the 2002 Census,[9] making it Russia's largest resort city.
& e* ~+ |) `1 G! F. RSochi will host the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in 2014, as well as the Russian Formula 1 Grand Prix from 2014 until at least 2020 subject to the circuit being ready in time. It is also one of the host cities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
8 r7 B7 Y0 T8 C9 V' z1 b+ LSochi has a humid subtropical climate with mild winters (average 11 °C (52 °F) during the day and 4 °C (39 °F) at night in the period from December to March) and warm summers (average 24 °C (75 °F) during the day and 16 °C (61 °F) at night in the period from May to October).
