English translation of the original 4 _! e0 P8 M  X9 n- c
The original song was written in 1933 by two Hungarians, Rezso Seress (music) 3 y/ \2 |: i. B, g. a
and Laszlo Javor (lyrics), and consisted of the first two stanza tvb now, tvbnow, bttvb! }4 a# i" K+ \

# ^0 x$ G2 L9 Q$ @It is if at all possible, much gloomier than the first two stanzas, almost apocalyptic.
/ C6 P$ l3 N& I, A/ k& QIt looks like the pessimism of the song was too much for the translators and they made their translation a happier one.

The war Zoe mentions could be the First World War, as the song originates from the 1930s.
3 E. \0 o5 ^- A9 n5.39.217.77But since the second part of the song is even more gloomy than the first part,

Someone said that:
9 Q4 J( W( O, r+ D" p6 @TVBNOW 含有熱門話題,最新最快電視,軟體,遊戲,電影,動漫及日常生活及興趣交流等資訊。I like this song very much! It is a little jazzy, and Sarah's singing and the music create the right mood for the song.
+ Z) x  I& {! B+ A3 utvb now,tvbnow,bttvbOne thing is very strange, though. The mood changes between the second and the third stanza, 公仔箱論壇( G2 M# G& n$ T$ A4 Y
because she wakes up and realises that the gloomy first two stanzas were nothing but a dream and the third stanza is then more chearful. 5.39.217.771 y% T7 E; b: f+ t
This change of mood is strangely rather abrupt: 公仔箱論壇% k+ M: N, y" j$ W6 i7 ~
the pause is less than a second -- Sarah has barely enough time to catch her breath.
  {0 f- C( C* O) @6 i  B; c* K& dI would have expected the change in mood between stanzas two and three to be build up a little more gradually, 公仔箱論壇6 ~/ [. \4 t) x4 n
in five to ten seconds or so. After all, waking up and realising that it was a dream takes time.
% l# [& s% ^. ^$ v7 {Hazan suggested that the last stanza could still be part of the dream: the singer has lost her lover, 公仔箱論壇2 l. ?" `5 w4 U. O; i2 @
continues her mourning in her dream, and as a reaction to the pain wishes it was all but a dream: 公仔箱論壇( _7 i/ F, n# h( ?
"I find you asleep in the deep of my heart", not next to her in bed. , _7 x/ v; w4 [8 s7 B  ~& Q+ x" k
I do not think this is what is meant here. The change of mood, the use of the words
$ e: j, z& E7 _* B* O5.39.217.77"I was only dreaming / I wake" and also the lines "I hope / 9 u& ?* x: x0 |9 s6 r2 s
