LIVERPOOL stars came together in mourning yesterday, to say farewell to Sheila Walsh, who had worked as a secretary for the club for 26 years.
Among the mourners were past managers Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness, Roy Evans and Gerard Houllier.
Rafael Benitez led his team, including Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt and Jamie Carragher, into the church of St Mary’s the Virgin, in Waterloo.
Ms Walsh died on New Year’s day of cancer.
Described by a senior Melwood figure as “the glue that held everything together,” she was one of the most enduringly popular and respected figures employed by Liverpool FC.
She worked as a secretary to seven different managers at Liverpool.
