据《镜报》报道，曼城认定球队前锋巴洛特利违反了多项队规而对他处以罚款2周工资的处罚，但意大利人不服，决定将曼城告到了英超仲裁法庭。

报道称，由于认定巴洛特利多次违反队规，曼城已决定对他处以罚款2周薪水——也就是34万英镑的处罚。但这名饱受争议的意大利前锋认为该处罚是不公平的。在向俱乐部高层上诉失败后，他已经指示他的经纪人将曼城告到英超仲裁法庭。如果上诉失败，除了罚款外，他还要支付五位数的听证费用，但他认为这值得一搏。

曼城队的阿布扎比老板担心巴洛特利在场上以及场下一系列不明智的举动会破坏蓝月亮的形象，主帅曼奇尼也对他的意大利老乡不再支持。据称，巴洛特利没有随队前往纽卡斯尔。曼奇尼非常明确地表达了他的不满，宣称这名前锋在过去几天里的训练一直没有达到他的标准。在问到巴洛特利为何没有随队前往纽卡斯尔时，曼奇尼回答说：“巴洛特利目前状态不好，让他好好训练才是更好选择，他的状态还不够比赛水准。”

lol balotelli is so entertaining though, the premier league won't be the same without him and luckily he played the first half of the derby against us which helped us to tear their team apart lol
