西門町名稱由來起源於日據時代當地的行政規劃，由於地理位置恰位在台北城西門外，故稱西門町，日本政府決定模仿東京淺草區的規劃，在這裡設至臺北座、榮座和八堂等等，讓西門町逐漸在台北城嶄露頭角，1990年代後期規劃了行人徒步區，週末和國定假日禁止車輛通行，讓許多青年學子可以來西門町恣意的逛街漫步，至今西門町更成為小型活動、簽唱會和記者會的場地，也有10多家以上的電影院在這裡營業，成為台北著名的商圈。3 M! [/ X) i1 s1 t# n

Ximending, the city or shopping place looks like very western and international style. Calvin Klein underwear, California fitness, New York Yankee and some American movie commercial, all are the American stuffs.
