As the world's automakers are spending billions on hybrid technology, Morgan has decided to go green by going retro.
The company has announced plans to build a modern Threewheeler, which was originally produced between 1909 and 1953.
On sale next year, the 2011 Threewheeler will feature an aluminum body, gloss black wheels, and a matte dual exhaust. Inside, occupants will find leather upholstery, an anodized dashboard, aircraft-style toggle switches, and a 'Bomb release' start button.
Power will be provided by an 1800cc Harley Davidson 'Screaming Eagle' engine with approximately 100 hp (75 kW / 101 PS). It will be paired to a Mazda-sourced five-speed manual transmission, which should allow the 500kg (1100 lb) trike to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 115 mph (185 km/h).
