集美鳌园位于福建省厦门的集美学村东南角海滨。鳌园分门廊、集美解放纪念碑和陈嘉庚先生陵墓三个部分。进入园内就是一条长50米的门廊，两厢墙上镌刻着40幅古今历史人物的青石浮雕，立体化连环雕像，许多人物千姿百态，形象生动。且能雕出喜、怒、衰、乐的各种表情，漫卷的红旗，薄如纸片，高举的干戈，细如笔箸，真是巧夺天工，人间奇迹。

1. A roof spout in the form of a grotesque or fantastic creature projecting from a gutter to carry rainwater clear of the wall.
2. A grotesque ornamental figure or projection.
3. A person of bizarre or grotesque appearance.

Origin: Middle English gargoile, from Old French gargole, gargouille, throat, waterspout.
