Ben Foster will reportedly replace Edwin van der Sar as Manchester United's first-choice keeper next season.
The Daily Mirror claims that Van der Sar's future at the club is in doubt after 'Sir Alex Ferguson's patience with the erratic Dutchman finally snapped at Wembley'.
United's players apparently pointed fingers at Van der Sar for his hesitancy in coming out when Didier Drogba scored the only goal of the game.
It is the latest in a series of below-par performances from the former Fulham keeper, who has been unchallenged at Old Trafford for two seasons.
But it now seems that Foster - now an England international after a brilliant season with Watford - will start next season as first-choice goalkeeper, with Tomasz Kuszczak likely to head to Sunderland on loan. |
