English translation of the original 4 [3 E( m/ ~$ \* I$ I0 y: d# [
The original song was written in 1933 by two Hungarians, Rezso Seress (music)

Actually, the second part of the song in Hungarian is not so reassuring at all.
( S, C0 X! `# P& hIt is if at all possible, much gloomier than the first two stanzas, almost apocalyptic. 5.39.217.77! h% e! ]" \7 Y* X% B
It looks like the pessimism of the song was too much for the translators and they made their translation a happier one.

Someone said that:7 G( r6 S( b. @4 H) H1 O
I like this song very much! It is a little jazzy, and Sarah's singing and the music create the right mood for the song.
6 [, {. k) t- O% b5 DOne thing is very strange, though. The mood changes between the second and the third stanza,
+ O4 o4 d: f* |tvb now, tvbnow, bttvbbecause she wakes up and realises that the gloomy first two stanzas were nothing but a dream and the third stanza is then more chearful. tvb now, tvbnow, bttvb" z, ~! n) f* c' f5 j
This change of mood is strangely rather abrupt:
7 M) j$ T2 Q! x" C公仔箱論壇the pause is less than a second -- Sarah has barely enough time to catch her breath.
& I  U' A2 Y# j* h/ M- jI would have expected the change in mood between stanzas two and three to be build up a little more gradually, 公仔箱論壇* y) L+ {, t: M1 i
in five to ten seconds or so. After all, waking up and realising that it was a dream takes time.
z  ~9 i) u& H" x/ nHazan suggested that the last stanza could still be part of the dream: the singer has lost her lover,
