Park rues Villa stalemate
Ji-sung Park admitted the trip to Aston Villa was far from easy for United but still feels it was a missed opportunity to close the gap on the top two.
United drew 0-0 at Villa Park to remain eight points behind Liverpool and Chelsea, who were held to goalless draws themselves earlier in the day.
Park told ManUtd.kr: "It was a good opportunity for us because the other top teams drew. It was good chance for us to reduce the gap on the top two, but we couldn’t win so I'm a little disappointed.
"Villa were tough. Nomally they play attractive football but they concentrated more on defence against us, so it was not easy."
Saturday's game capped a spell of five games in two weeks for club and country for Park, who captained South Korea to victory against Saudi Arabia last week.
"The weather is quite different from Saudi Arabia - it’s really cold here now!" the 27-year-old added. "Saudi is quite far away from the UK but physically I’m OK."
United travel to Spain on Monday to take on Villarreal in the Champions League, and Park is eyeing three points against the Primera Liga outfit.
"We need to win to qualify as winners of Group E," Park said. "At Old Trafford we drew against them so we'll be looking to win over there. If we play well I'm confident we'll do so." |
